Writing

We make this easy. The price of the course includes everything except one lunch out (€25-30) for five-day courses; one lunch and one dinner out (€40-50) for seven-day courses (this gives you the freedom to explore the local cuisine). We take care of everything else: transport to and from the airport or train station, accommodation during your course; all meals (including wine and cocktails) other than those mentioned above; beverages and snacks available throughout the day; the course tuition; and transport and admission fees for excursions to local sites.

For your enjoyment and to ensure enough one-to-one time and attention we keep our course sizes small. Course sizes vary but are never more than six participants.

Five-day courses jumpstart the creative process and get you writing. Absolute beginners find them the perfect way to generate ideas and accelerate their writing progress, while more seasoned writers use them to reinvigorate a stalled project, regain inspiration and improve skills. These five-day courses cost £655. To secure a place a deposit of £50 is due at the time of booking; the balance is due 28 days before the course starts.

Seven-day boot camp courses give you what you need to start or accelerate a writing project so you leave a week later feeling inspired with some good drafts, expert planning, and a solid strategy to finish.  Boot camps suit those with either a work-in-progress or a clear idea for a book or story, whatever your skill level. These seven-day boot camps cost £899. To secure a place a deposit of £50 is due at the time of booking; the balance is due 28 days before the course starts.

Our tutors, all professional writers, are highly respected, win prestigious awards, and teach on top writing programmes. They are here to help you reach your writing goals and enjoy your holiday. We carefully design both our five-day and seven-day courses to adapt to your particular circumstances. In that sense, all courses fit every skill level. The choices cover the spectrum. Painting

Multiple days can be arranged if you want to improve your skills or work on a bigger project. Courses can be arranged on any day of the week and run from 09:00-17:30.

Cooking

For your enjoyment and to ensure enough one-to-one time and attention we limit our cooking courses to a maximum of six participants. The Circle of Misse kitchen will provide everything that you might need and that includes someone who washes up.

Our one-day courses are a relaxed hands-on experience. You will create and eat numerous dishes accompanied by different wines throughout the day. Courses can be arranged on any day of the week and run from 09:00-17:30.

Private courses and courses in your own home or holiday rental can also be arranged.

Accommodation

The price of five-day and seven-day holidays includes accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis. Accommodation is single occupancy unless otherwise requested and please note, there are no single supplements.

We use a few carefully selected family-run hotels, all with en-suite rooms, as well as charming B&B accommodation, depending on season and availability. All meet our seal of approval and provide you with warm welcomes, comfortable rooms, and an authentic taste of France.

To give you an idea of what to expect, take a look at the Closerai du Val de Thouet set in a riverside hamlet just a couple of minutes from Misse, the Hôtellerie Saint-Jean, with its stunning views of medieval Thouars, and the Relais du Château, located in the lovely town square near the Château, park and collegiate church of Oiron. The B&B accommodation includes an 18th century mill and farmhouse, both on the Thouet River in our neighbouring village of Praillon.

We will accept requests for rooms at a particular property, but due to the scarcity of accommodation in our rural area we cannot guarantee them unless bookings are made well in advance.

As stated accommodation includes breakfast each morning and comfortable communal spaces to relax or enjoy a drink. The hotels both have bars.

We take care of all logistics such as transport between where you’re staying and the course venue, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy yourself.
