Location
We are located in Misse (79100) a small farming hamlet 5km from the medieval market town of Thouars, off the main Saumur-Niort route. Regional trains serve Thouars. Use the Google Map Google Map | to obtain directions.
Nearby cities with major transport links include Saumur (30 minutes), Poiters, Tours and Angers (1 hour), La Rochelle and Nantes (2 hours).
TGV (high speed trains) serve both Tours stations: St. Pierre des Corps and Tours Centre SNCF.
There are flights from the UK and Eire to Tours (Ryanair, Flybe), Poitiers (Ryanair), La Rochelle (Aer Arann, Easyjet, Flybe, Jet2, Ryanair) and Nantes (Air France, Ryanair).
Writing Retreats Pick-up/Drop-off
The price of a writing retreat includes free pick-up & drop-off from Saumur or Thouars train station, both of which have regular connections to Paris and Tours. Ryanair and Flybe serve Tours airport. Pick-up and drop-off to Tours can be arranged for an additional fee, this is dependent on the number of people travelling, but will never cost more than £50 each way: the cost for a single passenger.

Writing Course Pick-up/Drop-off
The prices of our writing courses include free pick-up & drop-off from Tours Airport or train stations at specified times. We do pick-ups at both St. Pierre des Corps (Tours) rail station and Tours (Centre) rail station normally prior to meeting the flight at Tours airport. At the time of booking we will coordinate a specific pick-up time. If you need to arrive at another area airport/train station because of links from originating city, please let us know and we will advise the best transport to get to one of our pick-up points or directly to our local train station in Thouars. Guests from all over the world visit Misse, so we are delighted to help with suggestions if you need them when coordinating travel.
Cooking & Painting Courses
We designed these courses without accommodation and pick-up/drop-off included because we know many of you include us as part of a larger French holiday and would prefer to provide your own accommodation and local transport. If you would like us to add accommodation for any number of nights and/or airport/train station pick-up/drop-off to the price, just let us know and we’ll give you a quote.
Other Options
We can provide free pick-up and drop-off from Thouars for ALL GUESTS if you coordinate with us in advance. Please inquire when booking.
Our guests join us from around the world, so we are well-versed in all travel options to our neck of the woods, so please don’t hesitate to contact us for suggestions. We are often able to bridge that last few miles if you want to leave the car behind and get to us via rail or bus.

Or, make your own way from a train station or airport. Hire a car or a long-distance taxi. Hire cars are available at all of the airports and TGV stations. Saumur station also offers car hire and cheaper and faster taxis.
